It has come time for us to close the doors on our business. On November 1, 2023 the equipment went to its new home, and I officially became retired.I want to thank each and every one of my customers for supporting me in this adventure, you pushed me to try things I never thought i could do, and always gave me the confidence to expand. It was this support that made me feel good about what i was doing. my hope is that you are able to find someone who enjoys bringing your edges back to life as much as I have. Without you I would not have survived in this business. You have all been wonderful.
For our customers who continue to support us at the local Farmers Markets, keep in mind that we continue to take items in during the off season. Give us a call and we will make arrangements to help keep your items in top cutting condition. Also we do not stop sharpening your off season items. We can make sure your blades are ready for next years gardening season.
We regret to have to say we can no long sharpen Ice Skate. With the ice arena's having the equipment to sharpen on site, it has become something that we very seldom do. Therefore we have decided not to replace a specialty machine with a newer one. It was a hard decision to make, and we are sorry for any inconvenience to those who have brought us their skate in the past. As of January 1,2019 we will no long be taking them in.
If you know us, and have dealt with us over the years, you will know that we have not raised our pricing since opening our doors in 2012. We strive to give our customers quality workmanship at a price that will help them save over buying new. However we have come to the point where the cost of supplies for sharpening has passed the price that we charge. After going over the cost of materials verses the income, we find that we need to increase the cost of sharpening. Effective January 1, 2023, we will be increasing our prices.to help offset the cost of sharpening.
As with many businesses, we are adjusting the way we do ours. To ensure that all the items entrusted to us receive the attention they deserve, we are no longer taking items in at the door. With the increase of onsite sharpening, it has become difficult to be here when the customers have an opportunity in their schedules. As we do all the sharpening for the two hardware stores in Beloit, we will be using them as our drop off points. The pricing will remain the same as if the items were brought here. The difference will be that items can be dropped and picked up anytime during their business hours. We will continue to pick up on Monday and Thursday mornings at both locations. We feel that by doing this we can continue to give our customers the service they need and deserve.
